Established in 2007 by BJJ Brown Belt Gus Oliviera, Brighton Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy is a proud member of the prestigious Lagarto BJJ Team, which is spearheaded by one of the world’s greatest BJJ practitioners, Lucio ‘Lagarto’ Rodrigues. Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with excellent transportation links and ample parking, Brighton Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy is a great place to learn and practice Gi or No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for anyone living in East Sussex.

To further improve the learning experience for our highly valued members, Brighton Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy recently expanded its premises on Rottingdean seafront in Brighton. Our fantastic academy, which is purpose built for BJJ and other martial arts, now has a massive 100sq/ft of matted floor space, brand new punch bags and training equipment, and separate male / female changing rooms with toilets and showers. Therefore, if you’re looking for a great place to learn and practice Gi or No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) in Brighton and Hove, look no further. We look forward to seeing you soon!

BBJJ The perfect academy for you and your family
Our academy prides itself on being a great place to learn for men, women and children alike. We provide our members with a safe, inclusive and friendly learning environment which enables them to develop higher levels of confidence and fitness (at a comfortable pace) while becoming increasingly proficient in a highly effective martial art. As an academy, we embrace diversity amongst our members and are strongly opposed to discrimination of any kind.
We offer exciting group classes for children (8-12), teenagers (13-16) and adults (17+); however, we also offer private classes which can be tailored to meet the individual learning requirements of any student. So, if you’re looking for somewhere to learn Gi or No-Gi BJJ, Brighton Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy is the perfect place for you and your family.
If you are interested in learning BJJ, please visit us as soon as possible. You are more than welcome to watch one of our Gi or No-Gi classes to see what it’s all about, or to join in. Remember, your first class is FREE OF CHARGE! Please arrive 15 minutes before the class is due to start. We know that it takes courage to try something for the first time, especially a martial art, but after a short while you’ll feel like part of the family.
